Wedding Weekend

I shot 2 weddings this weekend for one of the studios that I also shoot for.  One was in Annapolis and the other in Bluemont, VA.  It was suppose to rain all weekend, but the rain held off.  Sunday actually turned out to be a very pretty day. We did get hit with rain during the end of the wedding on Sunday, but the Bride and Groom did manage to have their sparkler grand exit, which was fun to shoot.  It seemed like all the rain that was suppose to happen during the week, decided to come all at once around 9:30 on Sunday night as we were driving home.  Aside from some soaking wet shoes, and some wet clothes, we survived pretty well.  I had a good time at both weddings, but the weekend was exhausting.  It’s exciting  to experience each wedding because they are always so different, and it’s always great to meet good people.  I will post a few pictures in about 3 months, after the Bride and Groom get a chance to enjoy them first.

Self Portrait Assigment

I was given the assignment to do a self portrait for a studio in Baltimore that I shoot for.  They are trying to redesign their staff photographers page and wanted to have each photographer create their own self portrait to help convey their personality.  Needless to say, I much rather be on the other side of the lens, so this was kind of a struggle for me.   But I did manage to produce something that is not completely horrible.

Cherry Blossom Engagement Session

This past Sunday we were in DC shooting an engagement session during the famous Cherry Blossom festival at the tidal basin.  It’s always challenging to shoot while there are hoards of people around you, but I think we managed to do a pretty good job.   I am still going through and editing the pictures, but they are looking good so far.  Here are a couple as a preview.

Big Money here we Come!

Just booked a weekend trip to Atlantic City in 2 weeks.  Its not my ideal vacation ( no sun, and white sandy beaches), but it will be a much needed, and deserved break for us.  I doubt the casinos would allow us to venture in with our SLRs, but I am sure we can sneak in a shot or two, but they may be of us running from security.  What would be awesome is to win some money, I could always use a new lens, or two, or five.   I wonder how much time you would have to invest at the penny slots to cover the cost of a new 70-200? Cross your fingers.
